Expedition to the M.A.R.S. Base

This program delivers a scenario-based learning environment that engages the students in a wide range of science activities, uses computer and communications technology and strongly encourages collaborative learning and teamwork. It offers a rich experience in science and builds core skills. Students work in Mission Control and at the M.A.R.S. Base.

  • observing the astronauts working in the Mars Australian Research Station (M.A.R.S.)
  • using interactive software to monitor systems and solve related problems.
  • working in pairs to complete hands-on science tasks and communicate their results to Mission Control.

1 class per session (9:30am-12pm or 12pm-2:30pm)

2 classes per day, may only  be booked as a pair with a related course for a full day ,9:30am-2:30pm . (See MORE INFORMATION)

$18 per student (plus GST); please ask whether your school is eligible for a subsidy.

Years 5 and 6.

This program works well in conjunction with Tickle My Droid, Fully Charged! and The Size of Your Sol. One of these may also be booked to make a full day.
