PROGRAMS

Surviving is Tough

This program involves three hands-on activities that help students to engage with the question: How does anything survive? Students will cycle through three sessions in groups, working together to develop questions and learn about habitats and adaptations. It offers a genuine science experience with real specimens, and helps students to identify and engage with big questions surrounding survival on our changing planet.

Students will:

  • Investigate fossils to identify adaptations that could help organisms survive in a variety of environments
  • Manipulate interactive environments to determine how changes could affect survival
  • Use microscopes to identify adaptations on a microscopic scale.
  • Outreach program only available to Victorian Government Schools
