Adaptation is the process of change in which organisms become better suited to inhabit their environment. Adaptation can take many forms even in the same environment.
This online unit allows students to explore adaption at the microscopic level. Students observe a number of different micro-organisms under the microscope and record their observations of what features they can determine might make a difference to the organism’s suitability to their environment.
At the end of this unit students will develop an appreciation for the different ways adaptation can occur and how adaptation of an organism can be influenced by its habitat as well as its biology.
