The primary program Balloon Car Racers is designed for Year 5 and 6 students to investigate Sir Isaac Newtons Third Law of Motion – for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction.
The students will design a car, fuelled by a balloon, to understand that the car accelerates as a result of air leaving the balloon in the opposite direction. The lesson provides instructional videos and written explanations to allow students to set up their own experiment.
The lesson asks the students to record what they are observing to allow the teacher to follow along with the students understanding of the task.
