Experience shows that, in the early years, a teacher’s personal relationship with students and understanding of the dynamics of his or her class is critical. With this in mind, this online program leads the youngest students into the world of science in their own classroom, using their abilities to observe, describe and record events and information.
- Students observe plants and animals, identifying the basic parts and discovering their fundamental purposes. They make a booklet in which to record the information.
- Depending on their year level, they may draw images or paste them in and write words or sentences.
- Students test bouncing balls to discover which will bounce higher. They record the information on the height of bounces using colours or numbers.
