VSSEC’s recognizes the importance of engaging students in science early and providing programs that meet the needs of the learner. Programs cover curriculum specific to that year level and start building the skills that will be needed in later years.

The programs are designed to be inclusive and build confidence in science. VSSEC aims to inspire students to pursue a career in science, and build general science literacy in those students who chose not to study science. A variety of strategies are employed to engage students, these include:

• students being actively involved in questioning
• exploring and using science ideas
• being challenged
• being able to make decisions about their learning
• being exposed to a stimulating environment
• interacting with other students and
• receiving appropriate feedback on their work

All of our programs cater for students with different learning styles and include components which engage, explore, explain, expand and evaluate.
