Teachers attending this Professional Learning Program will get hands-on experience operating VSSEC’s UV Visible Spectrometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrometer and Gas Chromatograph.

Time: 9:00 – 4:00
Cost: $190 plus GST

The program includes:
  • Review of units 3 & 4 by Mr. Christopher Dwyer including the exam and student performance.
  • An introduction to the experiments presented by Strathmore Secondary College teacher, Dr. Chris Kladis.
  • Analysis of Water Samples by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.
  • Analysis of Aspirin by UV-Visible Spectroscopy.
  • Determination of Alcohol content by Gas Chromatograph.

Varian staff will work with teachers to share their in-depth knowledge and experience in operating the machines and interpreting the results.
